Leslie Kean is an independent investigative journalist known for pioneering human rights work in Burma. She has contributed articles to dozens of publications around the world including: Philadelphia Inquirer, Sydney Morning Herald and Bangkok Post. Kean was producer/host of a daily investigative news program on KPFA. She began covering the UFO subject in 2000 with a feature story in the Boston Globe.

In 2002, she co-founded the Coalition for Freedom of Information (CFi), an independent alliance advocating for greater government openness on information about UFOs, and for responsible coverage by the media based on a rational and credible approach. Between 2005 and 2009 she fought a federal lawsuit against NASA to release "lost" records on the 1965 Kecksburg Incident.

Her new book, "UFOs: Generals, Pilots, and Government Officials Go on the Record", ten years in the making and two years in the writing, has contributions from: A major general in the French Air Force, a flight calibration inspection pilot, a fighter pilot in the Belgian Air Force, a retired General of the Iranian Air Force, a captain and pilot for the Aviation Army of Chile, a former White House Chief of Staff, a General for the Chilean Air Force, a pilot with the Portugese Air Force, a senior research scientist who worked at NASA-Ames Research Center, a jet fighter pilot with the Peruvian Air Force, a Brazilian four star Brigadier General, an engineer at the French National Center for Space Studies and the former Governor of Arizona.
