Stephen Bassett has gone down the official channel and I wait with baited breath as to the result of this and the response from officialdom.
If you have'nt signed the petition, please consider it, as it is open to all humans on the planet and not just "citizens" of the USA.
The Official response from the first petition was a blanket denial by the US goverment
"The Obama administration has formally stated, "The U.S. government has no evidence that any life exists outside our planet, or that an extraterrestrial presence has contacted or engaged any member of the human race".
The first official statement for over 60 years.
